Designed and developed a purpose-driven nonprofit website for Saprea, an organization dedicated to helping survivors of childhood sexual abuse heal while educating parents, caregivers, and communities on prevention.
The challenge was to communicate an extremely sensitive and complex mission in a way that feels safe, compassionate, credible, and empowering. Rather than overwhelming visitors with information, the website creates distinct pathways for survivors seeking healing, parents looking for prevention resources, and supporters who want to contribute to the mission. 
A major focus was building a clear information architecture around Saprea's core mission: Heal, Prevent, and Educate. Visitors can quickly access healing resources, prevention education, research, survivor stories, community resources, and ways to support the organization. 
The survivor experience is particularly important. Dedicated healing pathways introduce the Saprea Retreat, Healing Webinar, Support Groups, and online healing tools, allowing survivors to choose a starting point that feels appropriate for their individual journey. These resources are provided at no cost through donor support. 
The website also gives the Saprea Retreat a strong dedicated experience. Visitors can understand who the four-day retreat is designed for, what happens during the program, how to apply, what support is available, and what to expect before and after attending. The retreat combines trauma education, practical healing tools, supportive community, and restorative activities in a confidential environment. 
From a UI/UX perspective, sensitivity and clarity were central to the design approach. The website avoids treating visitors as a single audience and instead creates clearly defined journeys for survivors, parents and caregivers, professionals, supporters, and community members. This helps users reach relevant information without having to navigate an overwhelming amount of content.
The prevention experience complements the healing resources by providing parents and caregivers with practical education designed to help reduce the risk of child sexual abuse. Saprea also provides research-based resources explaining the effects of trauma and practical tools for healing and prevention. 
Trust and credibility are reinforced through the organization's clinical expertise, research, impact statistics, survivor stories, educational resources, leadership information, financial transparency, and partnerships. Saprea reports that more than 6,000 survivors have attended its retreat, while its wider programs have reached individuals across numerous countries and languages. 
The website also supports the organization's fundraising and awareness goals through prominent donation pathways, community engagement, news, educational content, events, and its online shop. This creates a broader digital ecosystem where visitors can move from learning about the issue to taking meaningful action. 
The result is a compassionate, content-rich, responsive nonprofit website that combines survivor support, healthcare-informed education, prevention resources, nonprofit storytelling, community engagement, and fundraising into a digital experience built around trust, accessibility, and meaningful action.
