Which works section layout works better?

I'm currently designing the "Works" section for a portfolio website and I've narrowed it down to two layout approaches. Would love to get your feedback on which one feels stronger.

Option A: Scroll Stack Cards stack on top of each other as you scroll down. Each project reveals itself by layering over the previous one. It creates a sense of depth and keeps the user focused on one project at a time.

Option B: Image Carousel A horizontal carousel that lets users swipe through multiple images per project. It gives more visual real estate to each case study and lets the work speak for itself.

Both have tradeoffs. The scroll stack feels more cinematic and controlled, but the carousel gives the viewer more agency to explore.

Which one would you pick? And why? Drop your thoughts, I'm genuinely torn on this one.
