Nightmare | A Cinematic AI Short Film

The Challenge

Craft an original, cinematic short film series designed for social media, using generative AI to: Expose the impact of societal cycles and systemic issues—especially within education and urban life. Demonstrate narrative and character consistency in AI-generated visual storytelling. Harness AI tools for high-quality, eye-catching video content while minimizing production costs and timelines.

My Action

As the project’s Creative AI Director, I led the development of "Nightmare" from concept to screen using state-of-the-art AI (Veo 3):

Story & Structure:

Developed a compelling, multi-generational story arc showcasing cycles of neglect, temptation, struggle, and resilience.

Scripted each scene around pivotal moments in the protagonist’s life—school, college, exam halls, adulthood, family, and everyday urban chaos.

Cinematic Visual Design:

Engineered scene-by-scene prompt direction for AI, ensuring robust character continuity and emotional resonance. Specified camera angles, color grading, lighting, and soundscapes in detailed prompts—achieving a professional, cinematic aesthetic comparable to award-winning shorts.

AI-Generated Consistency:

Reinforced key visual identifiers (hair, features, mannerisms) for recurring characters, teaching the AI to preserve scene and character integrity.

Entirely imagined, directed, and produced with generative AI.
