Creating a Cinematic Beauty Advertisement with AI
Project: Beauty Advertising
Role: AI Video Creator, Creative Direction, Visual Development, Animation and Video Editing
Tools: Higgsfield, CapCut
01. Project Overview
The goal of this project was to create a cinematic beauty advertisement for VIOLETTE_FR, built around the brand’s products, colours, and visual identity.
I wanted to create something that felt like a high-end beauty commercial, with detailed product shots, striking model portraits, realistic makeup application, and smooth cinematic movement.
Rather than simply showing the products, I wanted the visuals to make viewers pay attention to their textures, colours, packaging, and how they looked on the skin.
I handled the creative development and production process, from planning the scenes and generating the images to animating the shots and editing the final video.
The project allowed me to explore how AI could be used to create beauty advertising with a strong visual direction and a clear sense of style.
02. The Creative Direction
The visual direction was built around three main elements: colour, texture, and movement.
I used a soft lavender studio environment as the visual foundation of the campaign. The background provided a consistent setting for the cobalt-blue packaging, gold details, and different makeup colours to stand out.
The campaign combined extreme close-up beauty portraits, carefully arranged product shots, and scenes showing the models interacting with the makeup.
I also wanted the models to feel like part of a real beauty campaign. Their expressions, poses, and movements needed to feel natural and intentional rather than stiff or overly animated.
Every scene had to contribute to the same visual style, even when moving between a product close-up and a model’s face.

03. Scene Planning and Visual Development
Before generating the images, I planned how the different scenes would work together.
I broke the advertisement into individual shots, considering what each shot needed to show, how closely the camera should frame the subject, and how one scene could connect to the next.
The planned shots included:
Product arrangements and close-up packaging shots.
Beauty portraits featuring different models.
Close-ups of the models applying blush and eye makeup.
Product swatches that highlighted the colour and texture of the makeup.
Group compositions that brought the models together.
Colour-based visual transitions connecting product shots to the finished makeup looks.
I also planned the studio environment and lighting to keep the scenes visually consistent.
One important creative decision was to use colour as a link between the products and the models. For example, a blush colour could lead into a close-up of the same colour on a cheek. This helped the advertisement feel connected instead of like a series of unrelated shots.

04. AI Image Generation
The image-generation stage established the visual foundation for the entire advertisement.
I created individual product compositions, model portraits, group shots, and detailed makeup application scenes. Each image needed to work as a strong photograph on its own while also fitting into the larger campaign.
Product accuracy was especially important. The packaging, colours, and product shapes needed to remain consistent with the intended designs. The composition also had to give each product enough space to be clearly seen.
For the model shots, I worked with tight framing and carefully considered angles to bring attention to the makeup and facial details. Some shots focused almost entirely on the face, while others showed the brush making contact with the skin or the product.
I paid close attention to the lighting, background, hand placement, and position of the products within each frame. These details mattered because the generated images would later become the source material for animation.
The objective was to generate images that were not only visually appealing but also suitable for the next stage of production.

05. The Challenges and How I Approached Them
Realistic hand movements and product interaction
One of the main challenges was creating believable interactions between the models, makeup brushes, and products.
In beauty advertising, these details are difficult to hide. A hand holding a brush in the wrong position or a brush that does not appear to touch the skin properly can make an otherwise beautiful shot feel artificial.
I approached this by paying closer attention to the position of the hands, the direction of the brush, and the physical relationship between the model and the product.
For the animation stage, I also had to consider how the hand and brush would move together, ensuring that the action remained clear and natural.
Maintaining consistent models
The campaign featured multiple models across different compositions and shots. Keeping their appearances consistent was important to maintaining the overall quality of the film.
I worked with established character references and developed the shots around the intended appearances of the models. I also considered hairstyle, makeup, clothing, lighting, and framing when developing the images.
This helped create a more cohesive visual identity across the campaign, even as the shots changed.
Creating natural animation
Generating a good still image and turning it into convincing moving footage are two different challenges.
The models needed to blink, shift their gaze, tilt their heads, and change poses in subtle ways. Product interactions also needed to feel believable, while camera movements had to add depth and visual interest.
I approached the animation process shot by shot, defining the action and camera movement for each clip rather than relying on vague instructions.
For example, a beauty portrait might use subtle facial movements and a gentle camera glide, while a product shot would keep the objects stable and use camera movement to reveal their details.
This gave each shot a clear purpose and helped the movement support the visual story.

07. Video Editing and Sound Design
Once the animated clips were ready, I brought them together in CapCut.
The editing stage was where the individual scenes became one advertisement. I arranged the shots to create a visual flow between the products, models, and makeup application sequences.
I paid attention to pacing, shot length, transitions, and the relationship between neighbouring scenes. The colour-led transitions were particularly important because they helped connect the product details to the makeup looks.
Sound and music were also part of the finishing process. The goal was to support the visual rhythm and create a more complete commercial experience without distracting from the imagery.
This stage brought together the separate elements of the project and helped establish the final tone of the film.
08. The Final Outcome
The result was a cinematic beauty advertisement built from AI-generated imagery, animation, and video editing.
The project brought together product visualization, beauty portraiture, makeup application, camera movement, and visual storytelling within one consistent creative direction.
Beyond the finished video, the process gave me an opportunity to work through some of the key challenges involved in AI commercial production: maintaining character consistency, creating believable product interactions, directing natural movement, and connecting individual shots into a cohesive film.
It reinforced an important part of my approach to AI video creation: the tools are only one part of the process. The creative direction, planning, shot design, and editing are what bring the work together.
For me, this project represents the kind of commercial work I want to continue creating for beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and consumer brands.
Project takeaway: Creating a strong AI advertisement involves more than generating attractive visuals. It requires a clear concept, careful planning, deliberate shot direction, and an understanding of how every scene contributes to the final film.
