This 3D runway show is my final Capstone Project of my senior year of college, depicting pieces inspired by elements of nature. With this project, I wanted to not only explore capturing the elements of nature within each garment, but also take on the challenge of learning and using Marvelous Designer, especially as a person without previous sewing experience. In addition, I wanted to make sure I was able to incorporate my passions for not only character design, but also tech art through the meticulous alteration of each of the garments' fabric properties and creation of procedural shaders.
The walk cycle was developed in Blender using animation from Mixamo and the garments were constructed and animated onto the walk cycle in Marvelous Designer. Garment motion was then exported back into Blender for texturing, lighting and composition onto the runway. Thank you for taking the time to check out my work! Music - Lonlioni
This garment represents fire, inspired by the concept of paper burning up into ash.
This garment represents water, inspired by its continuous flow and water being poured from a glass or vase.
This garment represents earth, inspired by mushrooms growing on trees in the forest.
This garment represents air, inspired by its intangible nature, air currents and storm clouds.
The finale garment represents what can be considered the fifth element of spirit or the soul, inspired by the night sky and my own culture and heritage as that was what I considered to be central to my own human spirit.
