💡App Summary

Yamalon's Universe isn't a social media site. It's a curated digital museum/scrapbook of my life and interests. Instead of focusing on real-time posts, it's organized into permanent collections—art, games, music, food, achievements, photos, videos, etc. Yamalon's Universe is less about attracting an audience and more about creating a space that accurately represents myself. The emphasis is on curation and ownership rather than engagement metrics.

Name Meaning

Yamalon → A name my grandfather told me about that he wanted to call me.
Universe → Everything that matters to a person, In their own space. The specific world you build around yourself through what you care about most.
Yamalons Universe → Nazirs Universe. A digital space for viewing, curating, and self-expression of everything that matters to Naz.

Analogy

It's similar to how a museum works:
The museum is what visitors experience.
The archive and curation rooms are where everything is cataloged, preserved, and prepared.
In my ecosystem:
Yamalon's Universe is the curated experience myself or people can explore. (museum)
Central Nexus Vault is the private workspace where I manage all of the underlying content (curation room)

Why I built this?

Self/Creative Expression — I decide what parts of my life, interests, and personality to share. I wanted a space that reflects my interests & personality.
Space savings on PlayStation 5 (PS5) gallery
Customization & Organization
Ownership — I control the platform, the content, and how it's organized.
Authenticity — Instead of fitting into someone else's feed or algorithm, the structure reflects how I think about my life.
Longevity — Libraries of achievements, games, art, music, food, photos, and milestones become an organized archive that can grow over many years.

What this project gave me?

Learning and Experimentation - This app forced me to solve problems that don't show up in small demo apps. When you're dealing with thousands of images and videos, you naturally run into questions like:
How do I load only what's visible instead of everything at once?
How should I generate and cache thumbnails?
How do I automate I’m compression and formatting?
What’s the best way to store/retrieve data efficiently?
What's the best way to paginate or infinitely scroll large libraries?
How should I organize metadata separately from media files?
How do I handle uploads, retries, and failures?
How do I back everything up efficiently?
How do I properly use CDN?
What caching strategy should I use?
And much more.
