THREE KIDS, SURFING BOARD UNDER ONE ARM, ROLL DOWN THE SHOULDER-WIDE STREETS OF ROCINHA, THE WORLD’S LARGEST FAVELA, A MILE AWAY FROM THE NEAREST BEACH. Favela Wave is a collaboration between the collective Who is This? Me. and NGO Vivendo um Sonho Surf (VSS) which has helped take dozens off the streets of Favela da Rocinha, the world’s largest favela, by providing food, education and surfing lessons. Part of the profits from this collection will help further develop the NGO, as well as their students’ education and future prospects, helping establish the Surfing School as a mean to cope with inequality.
