The WAVE Drowning Detection Systems or WAVE DDS is an innovative wireless real-time swimmer tracking system that determines if any swimmer is at risk of drowning and immediately alerts the facility's staff so they can investigate and intervene if necessary. The system works in all types of water including pools, lakes, oceans, and rivers. It is not affected by water type, depth, clarity, glare, bubbles, marine life or other environmental factors that can adversely impact other technologies. WAVE's mission is to dramatically reduce the incidence of preventable, senseless drowning through the use of technology, education and public awareness.

Since WAVE's technology involves many plastic components for the wearables, electronics housings, storage etc., I was brought onto the team to provide the following services to help in their mission:
Mechanical product design
SolidWorks 3D Modeling
Injection molding DFM
Consulting on potential application problems due to heat and mechanical creep
Designing for 3D printing (and producing prototype parts)
