With government mandates on fleets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, an increasing number of fleet managers are compelled to inquire about the viability of adding electric vehicles (EVs) to their fleet. As EVs gradually become mainstream, we identified an opportunity to provide fleet managers with an easy-to-use tool to determine the viability of replacing their current fleet vehicles with electric vehicles. We began with customer discovery interviews to validate the problem and then validated the solution using wireframes, leading to the development of our unique value proposition. We then began the design process, laying out principles and requirements, followed by interaction and UI design. Thereafter, we conducted usability testing to establish a benchmark against which future iterations of the product would be measured, and to ensure that the product was actually used prior to launch. Product was launched successfully to happy and satisfied users.
