Typing Area Interaction Redesign

A new interaction I designed for the typing area options.
The client asked me to rethink the typing area. Instead of keeping it as a simple input field, they wanted it to act as a starting point for everything, from quick actions like creating new items or sharing, to showing recent projects you might want to jump back into.
This is how it looks when the extra panel is closed.
The challenge was keeping it lightweight and familiar, while still giving it the flexibility to handle more context.
This is how it looks when the bottom sheet expands, revealing the recent projects and the quick actions. It's meant to replace the traditional '+' button.
