A new day in Washington D.C as American designers came through with a language of absolute mastery in style laced with gracefulness and elegance to celebrate a fresh beginning of light and bravery.
It’s a beautiful day for Americans as Joe Biden was sworn in as the United States' 46th president and he pledged to be a president for all Americans.
"Today, on this January day, my whole soul is in this: bringing America together, uniting our people, uniting our nation," Joe Biden stated.
In his words, "The will of the people has been heard, and the will of the people has been heeded," We've learned again that democracy is precious. Democracy is fragile. And at this hour, my friends, democracy has prevailed."
Kamala Harris, becoming the country's first female, first Black and first South Asian vice president. Heroic and audacious in taking her oath, crushed and totally shattered racial and gender barriers like it has never been done before in America.
Cheers to a new dawn in America!
The sophisticated, beguiling and rather ravishing looks of the political geniuses were positively spectacular as Madam Vice President, Kamala Harris, in her signature pearls looked majestic in two black designers: Christopher John Rogers from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Sergio Hudson of South Carolina.
Michelle Obama served a classic chic look in a fabulous Sergio Hudson reddish-purple monochromatic light plum suit. The fit featured high-waist, wide leg pants, maxi floor length coat, a self-serving turtleneck all perfected together with a statement-soothing gold hardware belt. She accessorized with black Suede Stuart Weitzman boots, a black Christy Rilling face mask, black leather gloves. Looking at the volume of class pulled off by the former First Lady is simply! What a fashion statement!
Jennifer Lopez, always defining fashion in aptness stepped out in an All-White Chanel outfit styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn as she sang her beautiful rendition of ‘This Land Is Your Land’ and ‘America The Beautiful’. What a memorable day!
Lady Gaga, the known fashion killer, performed the National Anthem in a Schia Parelli Haute Couture: A navy cashmere structured fitted jacket with poignant gold-tone dove and an olive branch chest sculpture to represent peace, a dramatic red silk Faille ball gown Skirt and gold olive branch ear cuffs. Let’s not forget her “Infinity-1020” Black Faux Leather Platform boots.
Graceful and exceptional in her prose recital, “The Hill We Climb”, the 22-year old Amanda Gorman who is the youngest inaugural poet stunned us in her Fierce Energy Collection diamond earrings by Nikos Koulis. Her voice, presence, words, verses, voice, expression, presentation and personality captured the heart of the world and awakened bravery. What a great day for Black Culture.
The First Lady Elect, Jill Biden wore a blue tweed coat with velvet cuffs, a dress embellished with Swarovski crystals and pearls, as well as matching face mask designed by Colorado born designer, Alexandra O’Neill of the emerging American label ‘Markarian’.
We cannot wait to see more fashion statements from the White House!
