By The Mountain - Shopify store

By The Mountain is a cold-pressed juice brand sourcing fruit from high-altitude Kashmiri orchards. The founder came to me with a rough Figma design and a clear vision: a store that felt as clean and honest as the product itself. No preservatives in the juice, no clutter on the site.

Budget was $500. Timeline was tight. I owned the entire build.

The store runs on Shopify, built on a heavily customized version of the Dawn theme. Almost nothing from the default Dawn layout survived — the client's design language required reworking sections from scratch while keeping the theme's performance benefits intact.

Key areas of work:

Custom theme modifications — Rebuilt hero sections, product grids, testimonial carousels, FAQ accordions, and the "origin story" narrative blocks to match the Figma comp

Product catalog setup — Configured all juice SKUs (Pure Apple, Apple & Tart Cherry, Apple Beetroot Carrot), variant packs, pricing with sale badges, and inventory

Checkout & payments — Integrated Breeze checkout for the Indian market, set up payment gateways, and configured shipping rules

Marquee & micro-interactions — Built the scrolling "No Preservatives • Cold Pressed • No Added Sugar" ticker and other motion details that give the site its personality

Mobile optimization — Every section was tuned for mobile-first since the brand's audience skews heavily toward Instagram-driven mobile traffic

Backend operations — Discount logic (16% off packs of 12), review integration, SEO metadata, and analytics setup

The client's Figma file was a rough wireframe with strong art direction — hand-drawn illustration elements, a warm earthy palette, and playful typography. My job was to interpret that into production-ready Shopify Liquid code without losing the character.

The trickiest part was the illustrated elements (fruit doodles, leaf accents, hand-drawn borders) scattered across sections. These needed to load fast, scale cleanly across breakpoints, and not fight the product photography.

A fully operational Shopify store that launched on time and within the $500 budget. The site handles the brand's full product line, processes orders through Breeze checkout, and presents the "farm to bottle" story in a way that actually feels like the product — simple, pure, honest.
