Cruz de Camino

Teo Monroy

Watch on YouTube
There is this costume in many countries, leaving crosses on the middle of the road, where someone died. "Cruz de camino" (road cross), "Animita", "Capillita" (little chapel), are some of their names. This pice was made to commemorate and remember those who are gone. The flower in the bottle is a cempasúchitl (the Aztec marigold), a traditional symbol that helps guide the souls to the other side and back here during the Día de los muertos.
