The client wanted to develop a mobile application that would make attending sports events safer during the pandemic. The app needed to streamline the process of ticket purchasing, COVID testing, and vaccination verification, while ensuring that event staff could easily check if attendees were safe to enter the stadium.
The task was to create a cross-platform mobile app for both iOS and Android that allowed users to buy tickets, get tested for COVID, and verify their vaccination statusโall within one app. As the Mobile App Developer, I led the mobile app development process using React Native to deliver a smooth experience on both iPhones and Android phones. I implemented key features such as user profile creation, COVID testing management, and vaccination proof submission. User authentication and security were handled through Firebase, while Node.js powered the backend, ensuring fast and secure data handling. AWS was used for storing user data securely in the cloud, and TypeScript was employed to ensure code reliability and app stability.
The mobile application successfully provided a streamlined solution for making sports events safer during the pandemic. Users could easily manage ticket purchases, provide COVID test results, and show vaccination proof, all from their smartphones. The app also allowed stadium staff to verify attendees' safety status efficiently. With over 100,000 active users, the app helped facilitate safer events, and its cross-platform nature ensured compatibility on both iOS and Android. The combination of React Native, TypeScript, and Firebase ensured a high-performing, secure solution, while AWS provided reliable data storage and scalability.
