Your Virtual Grocery Assistant Has Arrived

Grocery GURU started as a group project in my fourth year of university. I was in a class that tough students like myself about managing the venturing process. During this class students were placed in groups and worked through a process consisting of secondary research, primary research, design thinking, refinement and implementation.



So What Happened Next? ⏭️

What happened next was that I placed in a group with 5 students. We were told to brainstorm a business idea and try to pursue the idea. Within a couple days we had met and brought to the table 3 ideas each. In the end we picked one of my ideas, which was Grocery GURU. Grocery GURU is a virtual grocery assistant.



Virtual Grocery Assistant? 🔮

The idea behind a virtual grocery assistant comes from my inability to properly create a grocery list. This leads to buying stuff I don't need and ultimately throw out. I thought to myself that there should be a service that displays pre made meal ideas (similar to GoodFoods, Chefs Plate, and others) but instead of ordering meal kits the Grocery GURU will curate a grocery list for you. The Grocery GURU will take into consideration things you already have and even suggest grocery stores that will offer the lowest overall price for your groceries. This will not only help people cook efficiently but it will also reduce food waste and the significant carbon footprint that food meal kit services create.

Just an Idea? 💡

Grocery GURU is currently just an idea. This was a project that ended up just being a university assignment, no further action was taken after the class.
