Kinetic Typography

The goal of this project, was to animate the lyrics of the song "Self-control" by Frank Ocean.

After doing some research about the artist, the album the song belongs to, I managed to get into his "universe", which made me able to take the first steps of the project, namely the colors to use and typography.

I tried to give throughout the compositions, a visual balance/harmony, I stipulated a grid, being this flexible in some parts, however not to lose the harmony I wanted; I was changing the thickness of the lyrics, based on the tone I was hearing from the artists and associated the thickness to that tone; in addition, I wanted dynamics and for that, I stipulated and grouped the background colors and stanza lyrics. The choice of animations, based on the weighting described above, with the intention of creating a kind of rhythm.
