'Rain, Jo, and Alessandro' - Teen Romance Novel (SAMPLE)

Writer's Statement:

Initially conceived in my senior year of high school, Rain, Jo, and Alessandro, began as a passion project about anxiety, first love, and coming-of-age in the 21st century. Now, it has developed into a story that gives teens a place to see themselves and relate to the journey of the title characters. Expressing a sense of idealism and hope, Rain, Jo, and Alessandro, provoke readers to reflect on their own place in the world and relish in the time they have right now.

Summary:

Beginning the summer after senior year, Jo finds herself shielded from the swelting Florida sun inside the ice cream shop where she works. She has one goal, save up for college and get the hell out of her hometown.

Yet, after building a relationship with her two co-workers and former classmates, Rain and Alessandro, she begins to blossom into the person she was always meant to be.

Now, faced with the decision of her future, Jo must choose between leaving and exploring the life she's idealized in her mind or staying and accepting the life that's right in front of her.
