Interactive Animations Made for Yapster

Disclaimer: This project required 100 hours, 6 coffee cups per day, and a level of patience I didn’t know I owned. Proceed accordingly.
Now that expectations are set (and my caffeine addiction exposed), let me break down the players in this story.
Renegades is the studio. Yapster is the app they were building. And I was the guy they called when the app needed an extra dose of personality.
Renegades, a studio known for turning crypto, NFTs, and stock platforms into something bold and gamified, knew their challenge: to make finance feel alive for a generation that expects the same energy and fluidity as the games they grew up with.
That’s where I came in.
In a nutshell, they wanted me to give Yapster a heartbeat… And 100 hours later, I did.
Using Rive, I worked on building the motion layer of Yapster and combining art and code to show that technology can be fun, fast, and deeply human at the same time.
Yapster wasn’t a “grab a UI kit” project. Every screen? Custom. Every icon? Custom. Every illustration? Custom.
I obsessed over timing, easing, weight, and flow and built the entire motion layer, the part that makes Yapster feel human, responsive, and honestly… addictive to use.
Buttons didn’t just click; they breathed.
Icons stretched, snapped, and guided your eyes naturally.
Motion supported the UX instead of distracting from it.
The whole interface gained a personality without yelling for attention.
When the update dropped, it rolled out exactly the way we wanted, which felt illegal, honestly. Nothing ever goes that smoothly.
And God, people’s reactions? So worth it.
Users literally commented on how good the motion feels; even the tiny component animations got love.
Real humans saying, “Why does this app feel so freaking good?”
This totally justified every ‘last tweak’ that turned into 17 more tweaks at 2 AM.
This was genuinely one of those projects that’s just fun to make, the kind you don’t overthink; you just enjoy building.
This wasn’t “add animations so it looks cute.” Yapster didn’t just move; it moved people.
And after 100 hours? I moved straight to bed.
