Battle against the kraken and collect loot from the polluted seas thanks to the kraken’s reign of terror.
Mirrors of the Abyss was made by a team of six in two and a half days (about 20 hours) for the 2023 AIE Winter Game Jam. The theme/prompt of this jam was “Reflections”. So the team thought, “…what if we have a mirror that flips the level and controls…”

Involvement

As the sole programmer on the team, that was my primary focus. One of the designers (Bryan Martin) was able to do some minor programming tasks with guidance which took off some of the workload. With the extra time, I provided the team with my engine knowledge for better implementations and headed source control fixing merge errors and keeping everyone on track with the latest version.
Through this project, I was not only able to practice various game programming skills but was also able to test my ability to work with a team and in a time constraint.
