Easter 2023

Easter 2023 design is in the books fro Southeast Christian.

I had a set of Jason Carne's old books package from the late 1800s and early 1900s that had some amazing hand drawn letters in them. In order to hit a unique look, I went through about 60 books to pick out individual letters for the 'Easter' title. We left the rough edges and the beautiful mistakes that made these so awesome.

With that, I kept going back to a Cody Hudson vid for Blue Bottle where he cuts out shapes with paper to lead his design process, which I thought was fascinating. So I wondered how I could abstractly draw the story of the three days we call Easter weekend. And it seemed to work.

The shapes tell a story of redemption and love.
