The goal of this app is to aid newcomers to Canada with preparing and potentially handling their first natural disasters of this type (snowstorms, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.). In terms of design, the goal was simplicity: how can we convey as much information as possible in the least overwhelming way, considering the app would most likely be used during disaster events.
Informative yet retrained design, I made sure that users could get an accurate snapshot of all the information they require from a cursory glance at any given page. As practicality was the primary concern with this project I mostly focused on UI/UX principles such as consistency, heuristics and bold and easily visible elements to not only engage users but to pass on as much potentially critical information without having users scramble to find it.
