Overview 🔎

I previously worked at Snyk (a software security/SaaS company) as a Sales Development Representative. I noticed a lack of marketing when it came to our monthly live webinars, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.
I created this LinkedIn event page from scratch. Whether it be designing and creating the event image or consistent outreach to increase attendance, I saw this project all the way through. As you can see in the image below, the event page had over 170 attendees (the most that Snyk has ever had for a LinkedIn event page since it became a company back in 2015).

Problem & Solution 🤝

Problem: Snyk was lacking traction and attendance for their monthly live webinars.
Solution: Took a sales perspective on marketing for a live webinar by utilizing a LinkedIn event page • Designed and created a simple, yet eye-catching and informative cover image • Ensured that all dates/times and descriptions were accurate and relevant • Invited prospective attendees that were involved with software security and in decision-making positions at target companies

Process 🛣

All of the above steps were vital to ensuring the LinkedIn event page's success. However, the most important step was routine check-ins and following up with the potential attendees.
As you can see below, I would reply to the original event page (which notifies every confirmed attendee and also bumps the event page to the top of potential attendees' LinkedIn feed) reminding everyone of the event and ensuring they were registered.

Results 🎁

By creating this LinkedIn event page from a sales perspective and routinely following up with both the confirmed and potential attendees, this event page had the highest attendance rate in Snyk's history as a company (since 2015).
This was not a task I was assigned. Rather, I took it into my own hands to implement marketing into my sales strategies and it paid off.
My event page caught the attention of several Directors of Sales and individuals on the marketing team and I was highly praised for my "just do it" attitude and work ethic.

Takeaways 📣

Having both professional sales and social media experience, I am able to take a unique approach to my content and writing that not only grabs your reader's attention, but also creates sales.
You can't simply create an article or a LinkedIn event page and be satisfied. Rather, routinely following up on any content is one of the best ways to ensure that your customer stays informed. In today's digital age, you can't risk your company's information, products, announcements, or blog posts slipping through the cracks.
