Mentra is a platform committed to democratizing mental and emotional wellbeing by merging ethically built technology with human expertise. The goal is to make mental health support accessible, personalized, and stigma-free for all individuals, regardless of gender, race, or circumstances. Mentra is more than just a tool; it’s a movement aimed at creating a more inclusive and supportive mental health environment.

As part of the Mentra project, I was responsible for managing both the mobile application and the backend system, which is built using PHP Laravel. Despite the challenge of working on a complex system, I successfully developed new features, enhanced the backend, and solved critical issues that improved the platform’s overall functionality.

Local Time Display for Users I implemented a feature that allowed users to see their local time, even though the backend stored data in the Africa time zone. This enhanced user experience by ensuring that users from different regions, such as India (IST), could view times in their own timezone.

Admin Subscription Management System I created a comprehensive admin system to manage user subscriptions, including granting access to premium services. This system simplified subscription management, improving efficiency for both admins and users.

Data Migration & Payment Integration I handled the migration and restructuring of therapy session purchase records in the existing database. Additionally, I implemented Stripe payment integration, allowing users to securely purchase therapy sessions directly through the platform.

WebRTC Functionality Enhancements I optimized the WebRTC functionality to enhance real-time communication between therapists and users. This improvement resulted in better video and audio quality during online therapy sessions, ensuring a seamless experience for both parties.

Throughout the project, I tackled complex backend issues, including learning and adapting to the Laravel framework quickly. From handling real-time communication to integrating secure payment systems, I provided solutions to both frontend and backend challenges, ensuring the platform ran smoothly. This project allowed me to refine my problem-solving skills while delivering essential features to support Mentra’s mission.
