TrIDNet & Notepad++

The project involves identifying the format of various files using both manual inspection and the tool TrIDNet. The first step is to open the files using a hex editor and identify the magic bytes to determine their format. The results are then recorded in a table.
Next, the same files are analyzed using TrIDNet, and screenshots of the output are taken for each file. The file formats obtained from TrIDNet are compared with those obtained through manual inspection.
After identifying the file format, the files are renamed with the corresponding file extension and loaded into the system. If the file is an executable, it may need to be executed from the command line if it disappears too quickly when double-clicked. If the file is compressed, the actual file is extracted before identifying its format and loading it.
Finally, screenshots of the output from each loaded or run file are taken. If a file cannot be loaded, an explanation is provided as to why it cannot be loaded. It should be noted that an executable file in Windows does not require the .exe extension to be loaded, as any file with any extension can be executed by another program.
