Dragon's Tale: Custom Character Design

Thrilled to share my latest project where I brought my client's vision to life through a custom character design. It was a pleasure working with them.

CLIENT OUTLINE: This character, a 21-year-old superhuman with dragon-like attributes, possesses a complex psychology. Initially, they might be characterized by a simmering anger and aggression, stemming from a sense of isolation or feeling misunderstood due to their unique abilities and appearance. However, as the story progresses, their character development could reveal layers of vulnerability and a desire for acceptance and belonging. Motivated by a yearning to find their place in the world, they embark on a journey of self-discovery, learning to harness their powers for good and ultimately finding strength in embracing their differences. Through their experiences and relationships, they evolve into a courageous and compassionate individual, using their extraordinary abilities to protect others and champion justice.

PROCESS:

Conceptualization: Brainstormed ideas for the character's appearance, personality, and backstory.

Sketching: Drew rough outlines to flesh out the character's appearance and experimented with poses and designs.

Refinement: Added details, refined proportions, and experimented with color schemes to bring the character to life.

Digital Illustration: Transferred sketches to a digital platform, used adobe illustrator for it.

Character Development: Considered the character's backstory and personality traits while illustrating, incorporating subtle details reflecting their journey.

Final Touches: Added finishing details and elements to complete the illustration and enhance the overall composition, used photoshop for it.
