The restaurant was dealing with a high volume of inbound calls and messages for table reservations and basic questions, which put constant pressure on front-of-house staff. Guests experienced long wait times when trying to book, reschedule, or cancel reservations, especially during busy service hours or outside working hours. On top of that, staff had to repeatedly answer the same questions about opening hours, menus, and policies, often leading to inconsistent responses and unnecessary operational strain.
To solve this, I built an AI Voice Reservation Agent that handles restaurant calls end-to-end in natural language. Guests can simply call and book, reschedule, or cancel a table as if they were speaking to a real host, while also getting instant answers to common questions about the menu, hours, or location. The system checks availability, manages reservations in real time, sends confirmation emails automatically, and keeps the team’s calendar and records up to date. The result is a 24/7 voice assistant that reduces staff workload, improves guest experience, ensures accurate information, and allows the restaurant to handle more reservations without hiring additional staff.

Impact

After launch, the AI Voice Agent became the first line of contact for restaurant reservations and routine inquiries.
Measured results:
62% faster response times for guest inquiries and bookings
45% ticket deflection, as the agent resolves a large share of calls without needing staff intervention
+0.6 increase in CSAT, driven by faster handling, 24/7 availability, and consistent information
Operationally, front‑of‑house staff spend much less time answering repetitive calls during service and can focus on guests already in the restaurant and on higher‑value interactions.
