In addition to Ahrefs, I also use the UberSuggest tool for extensive keyword research. For new websites, I target keywords with low competition, but high search volume.

Other tools I use are Keyword Chef and Keywords Everywhere.

I understand it's super important to ensure the briefs are well-structured and easy to follow for the writers to whom they are assigned. Hence, I always make sure of that.

I create and share briefs on Google Docs, which include primary keywords and LSIs (secondary keywords).

Of course, the briefs also include the entire outline including what headings/subheadings to include based on extensive research.

Many articles ranked on the 1st page of Google. :)
