Simtech is a small family run business specialising in direct drill seed drills for the regenerative agriculture sector. They've been in operation for over 30 years and supplied many drills mostly in the UK but also in many European countries. A link to their website can be found at the bottom of this page.

I started working for Simtech to reverse engineer two of their existing drills. They were planning to sell the company and didn't have any drawings or 3D models because the designs had just evolved over the years.

During this process they realised it was an opportunity to improve the existing designs.

Once they got used to the process and working with me, they decided to implement some ideas that had for new designs. I'm not an expert is direct drill seed drills but I worked with them to understand the outcome they want to achieve with a new product. I use my engineering skills and creative thinking to come up with possible solutions. Once a concept is decided on, I move onto detailed 3D design and production of manufacturing information and drawings.
