Void, AI Music Video

An AI-led music video project for the track “Void.”

I shaped the visual direction and built the video through a generative workflow, translating the track’s atmosphere into a focused visual world. The piece is part of my music-video practice at the intersection of AI music, creative direction, and generative video.

I’ve found myself spending more and more of my life staring into screens. Void is about the strange loneliness of being constantly connected, surrounded by people digitally but increasingly disconnected from them in real life.

The void represents the black screen when a device is switched off: this empty, dark space we keep returning to. The song follows me trying to pull myself out of that void, escape the false sense of connection the screen provides, and find something real with actual people again.

Void follows me falling through the screen into a hidden system built from our isolation. What begins as one person alone with a phone gradually reveals millions of people trapped in the same artificial connection, feeding a machine that replaces real human relationships with synthetic versions of them.

Each project starts with the song. I develop the core hook, lyrics and creative direction, then experiment with different styles and versions until the track feels right.

From there, I develop a visual concept around the song's sound and themes, building and refining the narrative, shot structure and character direction before generating anything. This planning stage involves considerable iteration because video generation is the most expensive part of the process.

The final music video is produced using Runway with Seedance 2.5, using character references to maintain visual consistency across multi-shot sequences. A typical 2 to 3 minute video costs around $100 to $200 in generation credits before revisions.

For example, Void was completed without revisions and used 13,521 Runway credits, approximately $135.
