PARTNERSHIP GROWTH CASE STUDY
From Dormant Network to Active Ecosystem AFS Intercultural Programs Ghana | Partnerships, communications & programme growth
150 of 300 alumni reactivated | 40+ partnerships developed | Satisfaction increased from 65% to 86%
The challenge
The organisation needed stronger alumni participation, partner relationships, programme recruitment and scholarship support. The real task was not simply to communicate more often; it was to build a repeatable engagement system that gave each stakeholder group a clear reason to participate.
The approach
1. Map: Consolidated stakeholders by relationship, potential value, interest and next action.
2. Segment: Tailored messages for alumni, volunteers, institutions, embassies and prospective participants.
3. Engage: Combined targeted outreach, campaigns, events and structured follow-up across channels.
4. Activate: Converted interest into volunteering, referrals, programmes, scholarships and institutional collaboration.
5. Measure: Used CRM records, surveys and feedback loops to identify gaps and improve the stakeholder experience.
Measured outcomes
OUTCOME EVIDENCE
Stakeholder reactivation 150 of 300 alumni re-engaged
Partnership development 40+ institutional and programme partnerships
Stakeholder experience Satisfaction increased from 65% to 86%
Programme demand Applications increased by 23%
Access and funding Scholarship funding increased by 61.5%
Research -> Segment -> Engage -> Activate -> Measure Current application: I now use the same method in partnership and employer engagement for African technology-talent programmes spanning Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya.
