OnlyPark: Admin dashboard rebuild, 10 seconds to 200ms

The problem
OnlyPark runs parking management across Australia: digital permits, QR visitor bookings and enforcement. Their admin dashboard was an old PHP app. Logins took 8-10 seconds and every screen was slow, so the team felt it all day.
What I did
Measured first to find the slow queries and screens
Rebuilt the API in NestJS and the dashboard in Next.js
Moved it to AWS (EC2 and RDS)
Shipped the whole rebuild in 8 weeks
The result
Login went from 8-10 seconds to about 200ms
Page load dropped 80%
The client extended my contract
