Marvel Studios finds my music composition workand requests for a call.

On the call, they reveal that they're releasing a new trailer for a blockbuster movie. It's called, "Spider-Man: Something Else About Home".

“Noice.”

I'm in the middle of the call with the representative Marvel. (Umm, let's call him Web-ster). Webster says to me in a husky Cali-bred voice ...

Self-designed Final Cover for Web-Head

Web: "Anyway man ... so for this film trailer right ... we need you to find a way to emulate and incorporate the ol' 1967 Spider-Man Theme Soundtrack."

Me: "The one composed by Bob Harris & Paul Francis Webster?"

Web: "Yeah yeah, that's the one. We're going for a nostalgic feel, but we want a relevant narrative for it."

Me: "You mean like something where the superhero is knocked down and struggling? …"

Web: "Yeah ..."

so it starts with a soft, uncoordinated piano then steadily rises to mirror the return of the superhero's confidence based upon their resolution to save the city against all odds for no other reason than that they HAVE to adhere to the old character development quote they heard as a teenager?"

Web: "Well, wow! Actually, that's exactly what we were going for."

Me: "Awesome. We can always revise the direction after the first draft and see if it still fits you and the studio's intention."

Web: "I think that's fantastic."

Me "Likewise. So tell me about the timeline and the budget."

Web: "As per our previous discussion, you'll receive half the flat fee as you begin on Monday morning. For the timeline, we've got a month to have the third draft ready, so the editor's gon' need the first mockup done in 2 weeks."

Me: "Okay. Say less my friend; I've got you. I'll probably start early, but don't you worry ... that's on me."

Web: "Wonderful. Well, I'm sure excited to work with you on this one. I've heard nothing but good things."

Me: "Haha. Let's hope they didn't water it down, and I have my trust in your team to blow this project through the roof."

Web: "Gracias. Ciao, Kav."

Me: "Gleichfalls. Ciao Webster."
