Welcome to the world of Type Design! I'd like to introduce my typeface design called "Fluff".
"Playful Puff" is a whimsical typeface inspired by the buoyancy of inflatable balloons and the fluffy allure of clouds. Each letter seems to inflate like a balloon, with soft, rounded edges that mimic the playful bounce of childhood memories. The strokes are light and airy, like the gentle fluff of clouds drifting across the sky. Every character exudes a sense of lightness and joy, as if ready to float away on a breeze. The typeface embodies the carefree spirit of playfulness, inviting viewers to embrace their inner child and embark on a journey of imagination. Whether used in children's books, party invitations, or cheerful advertisements, "Playful Puff" brings a delightful charm to any design, filling the atmosphere with bubbles of happiness and whimsy. ☁️💙
In my second year of uni, we were given the project to create our own personalize typeface. I began the process by doodling, and finding similar connection in my surroundings. I immediately connected it with street graffiti (text), different shapes of clouds, and balloons (for the 3D effect).
It is very much out of my comfort zone, but I truly enjoyed the challenge. I got to explore more with some softwares that I haven't touched in a while, and brainstorm ideas when creating vector designs. I'd for sure want to redesign and make a couple adjustments to the typeface since there wouldn't be any deadline, and it is more "free" to explore more concepts.
