How to Write Alternatives Articles That Win Switching Buyers

Why I studied it

Alternatives searches are small, from a few hundred to about 3,000 a month, but they come from buyers already leaving a tool. Advertisers pay $20 to $68 a click to reach them.

What I did

I coded 12 ranking alternatives articles by hand, from URL and title to how each tool entry is written, then pulled Semrush data on authority, links, and page age for each one.

What I found

The strongest entries say what each tool does better than the competitor and admit where the competitor still wins. Eight of the nine vendors list their own product first. All five #1 articles sit on mid-sized domains, and two rank #1 with links from five or fewer sites. Read it at https://nathanojaokomo.com/blog/how-to-write-alternatives-articles

Original research on the alternatives pages that rank on Google: how they’re structured, how each tool entry is written, and the data behind them.
