Subtle yet stylized is the Type of look we were going for. I suggested the Director of photography to go for an analogue film colors by keeping the digital characteristics.
This was an experiment project so i really pushed my limits with texture work. Being a colorist this is where real fun begins 1. I started with the kodak 2383 base, then. worked my way around it 2. Placed the 250d negative before the print film emulation and its corrector nodes. 3. Grading was done in between. This process is similar to working with film in the early days.
This is the Hero shot where we built the Look. Pushed some warmth in the image in a subtractive method by maintaining the skin tones natural to the environment. Finished the color grading process by doing some texture work at the end. We were very pleased with results on this shot. we pasted it to other shots it worked really well without creating any artifacts in the footage.

I worked as a colorist for this project. The client's brief was simple, he wants to keep the grade subtle yet stylized. so went for this warm film look.
