Indian Culture
India is a diversified country, symbolized by the plurality of its culture.
The design on the card elaborates on India's beautiful culture in the form of its classical music and dance, heritage, festivals, national symbols, etc., with all typical and traditional Indian elements.
Indian Embroidery - Kantha
Embroideries are one of India's most recognizable textile traditions. It is the process of decorating fabrics with threads, beads, sequins, etc. Indian embroidery includes a wide variety of regional styles varying in different regions and materials used.
The cards comprise Kantha embroidery (running stitch) that originated in West Bengal. The peacock and sun motifs represent Indian elements. For the look and feel of the embroidery, the image of Khadi fabric is used as the background.
The second card shows Mahatma Gandhiji's famous Charkha decorated with colorful Mandalas.
The Yellow Taxi of Kolkata
The design in the cards is a fusion of vectors with a real image. The notion was to combine traditional with contemporary.
In the foreground, Kolkata's famous Yellow Taxi can be seen.
The background shows Kolkata's Writer's Building built in 1777, which is the official secretariat building of the state government of West Bengal.
