For many people journaling equals to therapy. Being able to express your emotions with words that you will be able to read years into the future can feel magical.
Every person has their own way of journaling: some write about their everyday life, some do day and night 5 minute journaling and some people simply enjoy journaling whenever there's something important going on in their life.
In this post, there's different unique prompts that you can use to express yourself better in your journal.
One Day In My Dream Life
One could look at this as a form of manifestation. Thinking about how you want your dream life to look like and actually visualizing it and then writing it down in detail makes you feel like you will definitely reach that part of your life.
2. A Letter To My 10 Year Old Self
Your younger self is like your child that watches you proudly while you reach different goals in life. Make sure to have deep conversation with them every once in a while. It’s amazing how at ease you will feel after you’re done.
3. A Song I Would Choose As My Life Theme Song
This is for all you music lovers out there. Every time you come across a song you think fits your life like a glove, write about it. Go deep into the lyrics and write about its connections to your life.
4. Give Yourself A Compliment
Giving other people compliments is nice, but have you ever given one to yourself? If not, this is the perfect chance. What are your favorite features on yourself? Write about them. Dive in deep and explain why you like that particular feature. It’s amazing how much confidence your own words will give you.
5. Day or Night?
As night lovers, people sometimes find themselves thinking about the beauty of night every time they go to sleep. Or as day lovers, people sit on their balconies every morning, with a cup of coffee in their hands, and quietly listen to the birds chirping. What about you? Which one do you prefer? Why? Write in detail what you like about your choice; describe what that particular time means to you.
6. What Kind of Person Do I Want To Be?
This prompt will give you the chance to think about the person you are right now and the person you want to be in the future. Write what qualities you would like to acquire in the future and how you’re going to do that. Self-development is something every single one of us should be working on, and there’s no better way to start it than visualizing it in writing first.
These prompts will allow you to explore the creative side of your writing.
