Loreley's Puzzle: Fantasy Book Illustration and Design

Loreley’s Puzzle is a richly illustrated fantasy book that required both captivating art and precise formatting for print and digital editions. As the lead illustrator and book designer, I crafted the visual identity, formatted the interior for Amazon KDP and IngramSpark, and contributed animated motion visuals for promotional use.

Illustration: Concept sketches, character design, and full-page illustrations.

Book Formatting: Print layout for Amazon KDP and IngramSpark (paperback + ebook).

Animation & Marketing Assets: Created animated teasers and a book trailer to enhance promotion.

To visually interpret the story’s mysterious, dreamlike tone through art that draws readers into the world of Loreley, and to ensure professional publishing-quality formatting for seamless distribution across leading platforms.

Explored traditional and digital illustration styles to capture the gothic and mythic mood. Selected a color palette emphasizing depth and emotion.

Created final drawings blending textured brushes and layered lighting effects for a cinematic look.

Used Adobe InDesign and format-specific specs for Amazon KDP and IngramSpark. I optimized for readability, balanced white space, and ensured typographic consistency across editions.

Produced a short AI-generated motion clip where elements of the cover come alive for promotional campaigns and a full book trailer in After Effects used on social media.

The project delivered an immersive visual experience from intricate illustrations to cohesive print and digital outputs and proved my versatility in art direction, production formatting, and creative motion design.
