Paperless is a product that was born out of our problems back then. We needed a solution to create digital, easily shareable documents with granular tracking and integrations for our company. Before that, we used to send PDFs by email, just for these documents to be printed, filled up, photographed, or scanned and then sent back, which was always a hassle.
We went with Ruby on Rails for the Backend because of the quick scaffolding and high extensibility of this framework. Since we anticipated that the frontend will need high interactivity, we decided to go with Angular as a framework because it has batteries included and is highly tweakable in terms of performance, bundling, etc.
I created the first MVP within 2 weeks, and we learned a lot from it and developed the product even further. I was also in charge of taking care of a few junior developers along the way.
