A full e-commerce platform for Cyprus's open-box appliance market

Client industry: Retail / E-Commerce — premium open-box home appliances Location: Limassol, Cyprus Live site: https://www.michaellamidisshop.com

The Problem

Michael Lamidis sells certified open-box appliances from premium brands (Samsung, LG, Bosch, Miele, Siemens) at 30–70% below retail. The business needed more than a catalogue — it needed an online storefront that could carry a premium brand feel, build trust around the "open-box" concept that customers are often unsure about, and turn online browsers and showroom walk-ins into qualified leads. Off-the-shelf templates couldn't handle a multi-category inventory, a self-managed product catalogue, and a lead-capture flow in one coherent system.

The Solution

I designed and built a custom, full-stack e-commerce platform on Next.js with a self-serve admin back office. The site leads with trust — 47-point certification, 12-month warranty, free island-wide delivery, and 14-day returns are surfaced as primary messaging, not fine print. A category-driven storefront (refrigerators, washing machines, freezers, air conditioning, and more) sits on top of a cart and checkout flow, while a dedicated "tell us what you're looking for" request form converts undecided shoppers into direct inquiries with a promised 2-hour response.

Key Features

Custom storefront with category filtering across the full appliance range
Product catalogue & cart with grade and discount badges (e.g. Grade A+ · −54%)
Lead-capture request form — appliance type, requirements, and contact, routed for fast follow-up
Admin back office for managing products, inventory, and inquiries
Trust architecture — certification, warranty, delivery, and returns built into the core UX
Showroom + contact funnels with Google Maps, click-to-call, and a contact form
SEO-ready — structured metadata, Open Graph tags, and fast image delivery

Technology Used

Next.js · TypeScript · MongoDB · Payload CMS · Vercel

Results

The store is live in production at michaellamidisshop.com, serving the Cyprus market with a complete online presence: catalogue, lead capture, showroom funnel, and a self-managed admin — replacing a brochure-style presence with a system the owner can run day to day.

Client-reported results and testimonials to be added.
