INT. SHOP - DAY Two boys, JAKE (15) and MIKE (16), sit nervously at a small table inside the shop. They exchange furtive glances, indicating that they are involved in something shady—recently having committed a robbery.

A MAN (40s) approaches the table, holding a newspaper. He hands it over to a GIRL (16) who accepts it with a serious look.

GIRL: hmm.

The girl briefly glances at the newspaper, her face showing indifference and disinterest. She turns to the boys, a hint of curiosity sparking in her eyes.

GIRL: (irrelevantly) Look at this news. Can you believe it?

Jake and Mike, initially unfazed, glance at the newspaper with nonchalance. But as they read the headlines, their expressions turn to shock and disbelief.

JAKE (stuttering) Wait... this can't be... MIKE (in disbelief) No way... How did they...?

The boys' hands tremble as they continue reading the article. Their eyes widen, clearly realizing the gravity of the situation.

Suddenly, the Man notices the boys' reactions and snatches the newspaper from their hands, his face contorted with anger and suspicion.

MAN (furious) What do you think you're doing? That's none of your business! Jake and Mike exchange nervous glances, realising they've inadvertently revealed their connection to the news.

JAKE (apologetically) Sorry, sir. We didn't mean any harm. MIKE (whispering) We should've been more careful.

The Man glares at them for a moment, then quickly exits the shop, clutching the newspaper tightly. The boys sit in stunned silence, contemplating the consequences of their actions.
