The Brief

RIT needed a brand film for admission season that would speak directly to prospective students and their families, position the institution as a leading tech campus, and highlight its quantum lab, technology centres, and placement record. With a limited budget and a campus of more than 4,000 students, every shot had to be planned in advance.

The Challenge

A sprawling campus, a technical subject, and a tight budget left no room for improvisation. The shoot required meticulous blocking, precise coordination across departments, and a narrative structure that could make infrastructure feel inspiring rather than institutional.

The Approach

Rather than using a conventional institutional voiceover, we built the narrative around the students themselves: current students speaking to prospective ones. Staff voices and facility walkthroughs were woven together with a connecting voiceover, making the film feel lived-in and credible rather than overly produced.

Production & Post

I handled direction, production planning, and post-production end to end. The edit was the central craft challenge: selecting and shaping multiple student snippets to avoid repetition, maintain energy, and keep the film compact without losing its breadth.

The Result

The finished brand film supported RIT's admission campaign, showcasing its facilities, achievements, and student community in a format built for engagement as well as information delivery.
