To The Letter | CBS Animated Short Film

To The Letter is the winner of the 2022 AfroAnimation Award! The Jury and conference consisted of some of the most prominent BIPOC Animation creatives and executives from our industry! Out of 500 films submitted!

To The Letter, an animated short film from School on Wheels in collaboration with the CBS Leadership Pipeline Challenge, tells the story of a young unhoused student as she attempts to learn how to read.

We started off with understanding the philosophy of School on Wheels and how we can best raise awareness for their organization. Last-minute, the design of the story was changed to go with a 3D approach. My team and I sprinted to create this short film and all its emotions within a short 3-month deadline.

Being judged by a group of 37 CBS showrunners, directors, agents, managers, and production company executives, To The Letter won first place in the CBS Leadership Pipeline Challenge, which includes a $10,000 donation to School on Wheels. The animated short film is now streaming on Youtube and CBS.com.
