Julia Broome, founder of The Social Workshop and the Workhorse App, reached out with a clear challenge:
She was managing a 2,500-member private Facebook group and wanted to migrate her most engaged students into a branded, access-only community she fully owned, without losing momentum, engagement, or trust.
At the same time, she needed a scalable solution that worked for:
Existing students who already owned The Content Course (for content creators, brands, businesses, and social media managers working with clients)
Members of The Social Workshop, a training ecosystem built specifically for social media managers
Facebook wasn’t designed for:
Long-term retention
Structured learning paths
Monetization or cross-selling
Data ownership and segmentation
Julia needed a centralized, conversion-driven community that lived inside Kajabi and supported both current and future students.

Relying on a Facebook group meant:
Fragmented conversations and low post visibility
No clean onboarding experience for new members
Limited control over member data and customer journeys
Missed opportunities to cross-sell offers at the right time
A disconnect between paid courses and the community experience
As her brand and student base continued to grow, these gaps created friction, for both Julia and her members.
Something was clear:

Without a structured community product, engagement and lifetime value were being left on the table.


I designed and implemented a Kajabi Community Product built to increase engagement, retention, and conversions, while giving Julia full ownership of her audience and ecosystem.
Using Kajabi as the foundation, I migrated her community experience away from Facebook and into a branded, private environment aligned with The Social Workshop’s mission:

A collaborative space where social media managers and digital professionals learn, connect, and grow through strategy, accountability, and real-world application.

Successfully transitioned from a Facebook-dependent community to a fully owned Kajabi ecosystem
Created a central hub for The Content Course and The Social Workshop students
Improved onboarding clarity and member experience
Opened new opportunities for cross-selling and long-term retention
Gave Julia a scalable foundation to grow her community without platform limitations
