Spatial Design for 5 Room Flat :: Behance

Brief: Samantha and Edwin, professionals in their mid-40s, have just acquired a residential apartment in Bishan. They have two children, one in primary six and one in secondary four. They are open to suggestions about putting the two children into a room or providing a separate room for each child.

Design Rationale: I went for an industrial aesthetic as it gives a modern feel to it. Furniture looks minimalistic and clean giving a spacious feel to the house. The colour use is monochromatic grey and brown and materials used is wood and concrete. The 1st toilet is located near the children room and kitchen so that there is easier access for the children. Dining room is placed right next to the kitchen so that food can be served right in front and not time is wasted to travel. The living room is located beside dining room to provide a centralised entertainment room for all. Childrens’ room are located next to each other to give their own area
