Shaving bumps are ingrown hairs that develop after the hair is cut, like waxing or shaving.
The ingrown hair curls back into the skin and causes the hair to be trapped
once skin cells clog the hair follicle. You can experience shaving bumps
anywhere on the body where your hair strands are the thickest such as the face,
neck, head, legs, armpits, and pubic area. Some symptoms you may notice are red
pimples or boil-like sores, itching, and discomfort. More severe cases of
ingrown hairs can include infections, hyperpigmentation, keloid scarring, and
abscesses.
