Crimson eyes opened to soft whispers of tranquility.
It happened again. The lone Nocti awoke upon unfamiliar plains, adjoining lushes of life and vibrant hues.
They were now on an entirely different planet than they were yesterday, or whenever it was when they were last conscious. That planet was now gone, reduced to mere dust adrift in the cold seas of space by sullied hands.
The Nocti's limbs were like frozen twigs. Beyond tired to move. This was all in line with the previous instances. Soon, the stiffness would pass. Soon, this planet too would be returned to the colourless clutches of the nihility.
Eyes of a marred crimson closed once more. As long as they remained shut, it was easier to pretend. Assuring themselves the same senseless end.
The colours around them had already begun thawing, the vibrance dissolving into nothingness.
