The client wanted a summer vibe, with people having fun, chatting and dancing on a rooftop, and the day goes by, going through the day, evening and night.

My preferred hardware for this is my iPad pro, and my software of choice include procreate for painting the background and clip studio for 2d animation.

Luvid explained to me the kind of scene he wanted to portray in his new video, with this I begin to gather the necessary reference to show him some first sketches for the illustration.

Once the sketch was accepted I move on to line and color, in this stage I begin with the day scene, as soon as that is done, I can adjust the colors for the afternoon and the night scene, I must admit this part was tricky, mostly since I had to color the reflections on the windows from scratch.

When the background is done, I move forward to the animation rough sketch. I went for a simple 3 movement animation for the people dancing on the roof, and some slight movement for the characters in the corner and below on the inside of the building.

Once we're both happy with the results I can finish up the animation with line and color for the animation frames, and when the animation is done, I move the files to my computer and switch to after effects to compose the final video with the song that Luvid provided.
