A nonprofit that teaches trauma-affected

A nonprofit that teaches trauma-affected kids to sail asked me to make donating feel as real as the ocean does.

HURTS runs sailing and wilderness programs for young people working through addiction, mental health struggles, and broken homes. Before this build, their whole story lived on a single page. No way to show what a Day Sail actually looks like versus a multi day backcountry trip. No way for someone to give $50 and know that covers a flotation device instead of disappearing into a general fund.

So I rebuilt the site in GoHighLevel around one idea: every part of the site should make the mission tangible.

The program pages break down each tier, from a half day classroom intro in Level I to a full unsupervised voyage in Level III, so a parent or a donor can actually picture what their kid or their money is funding.

The donation flow ties dollar amounts to specific outcomes. $100 funds two days of sailing lessons. $2,500 funds a young person through the entire graduated volunteer program. People give more when they can see exactly where it lands.

And because this is a story about people, not a product, the whole design leans on real photos of real kids on real water instead of the polished stock photography most nonprofit sites default to.
