Portfolio Website Revamp

I developed a fully responsive, CMS-integrated author website designed to showcase the client’s work across multiple genres, including fiction and non-fiction. The site is built to be easily managed using Google Sheets as the content management system (CMS), allowing the client to update the website content without technical expertise.

The homepage highlights the latest releases from both the fiction and non-fiction genres, providing brief descriptions of each title alongside an author biography. The site features a clean, user-friendly navigation bar with links to Fiction, Non-fiction and Events pages. Social media links and contact details are conveniently located in the footer.

To simplify content updates, I structured the backend to pull data directly from a Google Sheets document. Separate tabs in the sheet for Fiction, Non-fiction, and Events ensure that new books and events can be quickly added or edited. Images, including book covers, are dynamically integrated by pulling URLs from the Sheets, allowing for future updates without the need for hard coding.

Throughout the project, the client was kept closely involved, with regular updates provided. SEO optimization was implemented from the start to maximize visibility and discoverability. The project included a final code handover with a 30-day aftercare period for any post-launch support.
